Kennewick, WASH. – Ryan Mallow in the UL-19 led the boats across the start line followed by Greg Hopp in the UL-1 and Joe Souza in the UL-9.

Kayleigh Perkins, who has won every Unlimited Light hydroplane race this year, started in fourth place but quickly moved into 3rd passing up Joe Souza. Perkins had the UL-72 flying around the course and quickly moved into 2nd. By the end of the first lap, Kayleigh had moved into first.

Greg Hopp in the UL-1 was in second and charging hard. Perkins put the hammer down on the field and ran off with the victory.

Ryan Mallow in the UL-19 had the fastest laps in the unlimited lights ranks all weekend and he and Greg Hopp had a battle for the second place spot. Hopp held off Mallow at the end to take second with Mallow third.

“I’ve never flown the boat that hard before,” said Kayleigh after the win. “That’s right up there at the edge.”

“I had Greg and Ryan to the outside and I thought I’m not letting up,” she said. “I am just flabergasted.”
